Martin's Mass

Frank Martin's Double Choral Mass is among the most beautiful choral works ever written. With these performances, we commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the death of this influential Swiss composer, who lived in Naarden for a long time. As a tribute, we also perform Martin's enchanting Songs of Ariel, which he composed for us in 1951. Martin's genius sounds are complemented by the profound Quatre motets pour un temps de pénitence by Francis Poulenc, another composer with whom we maintained warm ties.
