Besides its own final performance at Kröller-Müller Museum, NKK NXT 23/24 is also working in collaboration with Aïda Gabriëls and her collective OESTER on the performance Passages at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp (KMSKA).
Passages, fleeting encounter between life and death, the past and the present, reality and imagination. This performance embodies a no man's land where contrasting worlds meet and within which an interplay of voice, light, visual art, movement, electronics and classical music unfolds. Passages is a residency project that keeps on going, embracing an unfinished state and for which Aïda Gabriëls invites performers back in new environments with each performance.
From the heart of the museum, the performers create a dialogue between the transience of the performing arts and the static nature of the visual arts. The spectator's gaze adds the final brushstroke.
